Busy Busy


I've been so busy with school and work I haven't had time to even think about baking cakes. *sigh* I can't wait for crunch time to be over and to start holiday baking. On the bright side the other day I had a wonderful breakfast of chocolate scones, tea and pomegranate.

Dan and I have also been trying great veggies from local farmers at the market, check out the purple potatoes and the pink oyster mushrooms!

Lazy Sunday Tartlets






















I decided to make these tartlets to "productively procrastinate" this afternoon. I was putting off studying for my historical techniques exam.
Dan and I decided it was finally a good time for us to open the seaons first Jar of vanilla peach preserves! We'd been anxiously waiting for the days to turn colder so we'd really appreciate it. It was wonderful. This is also the first preserves we've ever made, so opening it after some time and experiencing the deepening of flavours has been really satisfying.

We mixed the preserves with some strawberries to make these tiny tarts.
